Congrats!

I'd like to congratulate all of the students who went to states March 8, 9, and 10! You are all a bunch of bright, energetic, fun students and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend. We've been back for two days now, and I think I just finally recovered! I bet you guys were all fine yesterday - that's because you have youth on your side. :)

I'd like to know what your thoughts were of the weekend. Post your responses here - like: Did your events play out like you thought they would? Did you meet a lot of new friends? Did you like Roller Kingdom? Did you like the food? Was it harder than you thought, or easier? Will you do better next year knowing what you know now?

If you did not make the national team - I know you must be disappointed. I am too because I know many of you worked extremely hard. But hopefully you have another year to give it another go! Take what you learned this year and apply it to next year and hopefully you can make it to Dallas!

To the students who made it to nationals - YEAH, BP! We have a lot to decide in the next couple of weeks - so sit tight and wait for the info from me. In the meantime - reprint your guideline for your event and read it very carefully. We have national deadlines - probably April 1 or 2 where we have to mail out certain items. If you miss this deadline - you won't go to nationals!

A special congrats to Kevin for his bid for national office! He's going to need our whole chapter behind him as he embarks on uncharted territory! Be supportive and let's help get him to office!

Over and out for now....

I loved states this weekend! My first conference was amazing, and I cannot WAIT for Nationals! States was so much more different than I expected; I thought we were going to be busy all the time but when we were there I saw how much free time we actually had and it was really a whole lot of fun! I'm suprized I got third on Desktop Publishing, because I didn't think I did that well. But anyway, I cannot wait for nationals, and next year's BPA States!

States was fantastic! I made friends with a couple new people and got to meet up with Charlie from last year! Also, I loved my competition, we could have done better in global marketing but at least i came in 3rd for Database Applications.

I can't wait for nationals! I don't know if it's because i already miss sleeping with shaun or because i get to go to RENO!

Also, thank you Mrs. Sylvia and Mrs. Powers for all of your hard work.

Wow! You kids did great at states! Congratulations to all of you, whether making it to nationals or not. I know Mrs. Sylvia is very, very proud of you all as she told me the results of your weekend - she happens to be my daughter. I am so proud of Michael for making 2nd place in his area and know he will do well at nationals. Good luck to all of you.

Hey:

I thought states was really, really cool. It was my first time and I already can't wait to go next year. I am very surprised that I got 8th place in word processing. I was expecting worse since I didn't even finish it! I have so much knowledge now that I am pretty confident that I will win word processing next year. Anyways, thank you so much Mrs. Sylvia and Mrs. Powers for selecting me to go to the leadership academy in Reno. I am really excited to go. Good luck to everyone in their events at nationals and I wish Kevin the best of luck as he tries to become National officer.

Chris - yeah! There is a virtual chapter set up for alumni
who are settled in MA. You have to contact Jaime Westgate who is the alumni advisor. How cool is that? If you're interested for next year, let me know. I think you'd go right to nationals and compete there. Think you have what it takes? Or are you all rusty?? :)
