Peanut Butter Jelly and a baseball bat! I'm not sure where that comes from, but I'm sure you guys know that song!
So I was out doing errands for Reno today and I found myself at Target. I ran into an illustrious BPA alumni member, Jessie Adams. She asked about our trip to Reno and we made nice small talk. Side note: Jessie is very good at customer service. :) Anyway - she told me about how she brought peanut butter and jelly to nationals and ate PB&J sandwiches for lunch to save money! I thanked her for the advice and told her I would post the info on the blog! Thanks Jessie!
Who doesn't like PB&J?
Oh! I also called the hotel and requested a refrigerator for our room. You guys might want to do the same. It does cost $5.00 per day. This cost will be on you - the school will not cover it.
Don't forget your license or ID.
Don't forget that you have to tip the maid at the end of the week. Put money aside for that so you don't spend it.
The students who worked the car wash; Kevin B. Mike S. and Sarah M. will be getting $30.00. Thanks so much for coming guys - it's nice to know who you can count on! It was also very nice to see Jessie and Beth. I think it's important to keep alumni connections to our group. I love keeping in touch with our graduates!
Don't forget to pack your reference material, style manuals, pencils, pens, socks, bandaids, medicine, etc. Weigh your suitcase before you head out. If it's over 50 lbs, you'll be paying more money to check it! Wear easy on/off shoes to get through security.
I am going to schedule a meeting Monday. The meeting won't last long, but we can wrap up a couple of loose ends before we go.
Alumni - do you have any packing/food/national advice??

i can not wait. 2 days!!! this is gonna be amazingg
Pack some snacks for the plane such as chips and cookies something that is light so it doesn't become heavy when you carry you carry on bag. As for food for nationals at the hotel the best soup of all time ramen noodels!! Boil the water in the coffee pot, break the noodels up and put them in a cup and pour the water into the cup!! But food aside it is all about meeting new people and having fun! That is what it is all about.
From your friend and alumni James Evers class of 07
hey ms sylvia what's our reservation name for the fridge so i can call and get it lol!
Wish I had gotten a fridge-- we sure coulda used it.. shirley temples would've been alot cheaper than ordering them from room service lol hehehe.. PB&J is a deff.. also for those who like Tuna the bumble bee already made tuna with crackers is yummy.. or the packets-- and just some munchies for those late nights in the hallway *tear* i'll be taking finals and you guys will be in reno.. but as James said.. it really is all about meeting people and having fun...
Check out the URL if you have my myspace.. it's a picture from Orlando and this kid we met "this is the alligator and this is the crocidile"
If you're ordering a refrigerator, tell them you're part of a group reservation under Bristol-Plymouth. You might have to give all names of the room reservation because, of all things, my reservation was under Mrs. Power's name. lol
I'm so happy I'm getting a fridge in Reno. I'm going to bring my grilled cheese maker and I'll get some cheese (and put that in my fridge!) and bread in Reno and make everyone awesome grilled cheese sandwiches! :)
Snacks are definitely a must, don't pack the whole box, take them out and place them in between your clothes, just don't put them in you're outside pocket! they WILL get crushed. Another great tip, put you shampoo and toiletries in a ziploc baggie, if they leak, it wont get all over your cloths! Have fun in RENO everyone!
Aggh! I can't read this blog anymore. I'm not packed yet...let alone snacks! I might need to bum some snacks from you guys if I get hungry on the plane. :) I can't wait for Reno...although I can wait to get up at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow. :(
